Easy to make, this apple pie is ideal for a family dinner or holidays, and will be a hit in your home.
The pie dough uses ingredients you probably have at home, but if you prefer, you can use store-bought double crust pie pastry.
The apples finish the pie and the cinnamon gives the recipe a special touch. Check it step by step!
1. In a food processor, using the blade attachment, mix everything except the water.
2. Pulse the motor on and off until the mixture resembles small pieces.
3. With the motor running, add water through the tube.
4. Process until the dough comes away from the sides of the bowl.
5. Remove and divide the dough into two equal parts.
6. On a surface dusted with flour, roll out half of the dough into a circle.
7. Line the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie dish with the dough.
8. Do the same with the remaining dough to cover the pie after adding the filling.
9. Preheat the oven to medium-high.
1. After slicing the apples, cover them with the lemon juice.
2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, nutmeg, and the sugar already mixed with cinnamon. Sprinkle over the apples and mix well.
3. Distribute the apples over the dough, making a “mound” in the center.
4. If desired, dot with small pieces of butter over the apples.
5. Cover with the remaining dough and seal the edges.
6. Brush with a lightly beaten egg and make several holes in the dough to let steam escape.
7. Bake for 20 minutes.
8. Lower the oven temperature to medium and bake for another 20 or 25 minutes.
9. The crust should be golden brown and the filling should be bubbling.
